Whitney Houston died this afternoon … a rep for the singer announced. She was 48.

Our sources tell us a member of Whitney’s entourage found her in her 4th-floor room at the Beverly Hilton hotel … and called hotel security — who then dialed 911. When paramedics arrived Houston was found unresponsive.

We’re told police arrived to the scene within minutes and fire was already there on an unrelated call. According to our sources, paramedics performed CPR but it did not work and she was pronounced dead at 3:55 PM.

Our sources say there were no obvious signs of foul play, but BH PD detectives have begun a full investigation. We’re told she was ID’ed by family and friends.

L.A. County Coroner Ed Winter told our photog at 7:09 PM that it is too early in the investigation to tell what happened.

Crescenta Valley High School officials said they don’t believe bullying was a factor in the apparent suicide of a 15-year-old boy who jumped off a three-story building Friday during lunch period.

Though some parents and students expressed concern that bullying might have played a role, officials said they have no evidence of that.

“As a district, we take bullying very seriously,” Glendale Unified Supt. Dick Sheehan said.

The high school held a student assembly last week to address bullying and methods for coping.

At a news conference on the campus Friday, Los Angeles Count Sheriff’s Lt. John Corina said the sophomore seemed to take a running start before jumping off the ledge at about 12:30 p.m.

Later that evening, coroner’s officials identified the boy as Drew Ferraro. Within hours of the incident, friends and classmates filled Ferraro’s Facebook page with memories and condolences.

“Drew, I love u so much … I will miss u so much. U were one of the nicest and funniest [people] I met. I wish I could tell you in person. I love you so much. R.I.P,” one note read.

School officials began evacuating the campus at about 1 p.m., and investigators began talking to students, some of whom watched Ferraro fall.

“It was lunchtime — a lot of kids were out there on campus,” Corina told the La Canada Valley Sun, adding that the investigation remained ongoing. “We are talking to a lot of kids right now. Some of them saw, some of them did not.”

The teenager didn’t appear to say anything before the incident, Corina said, adding that detectives were looking into whether he left a note.

Grievance counselors are reportedly converging on Crescenta Valley High after a student fell to his death near the administration building, according to school sources and witness reports.

The fall was reportedly witnessed by dozens of students, but district officials have so far declined to comment on the incident.

Officials have ordered an evacuation to get students off the campus and home early, said Glendale Unified spokesman Steven Fasher, who declined to elaborate.

Sinead Gray, who went to the school to pick up her brother at the campus, said he witnessed the immediate aftermath of the fall and described her body on the ground.

It happened during the lunch period and students crowded around the scene and on a pedestrian bridge above the body, Gray added.

The evacuation comes one day after authorities staged a drunk driving accident at the campus to warn students against the dangers of getting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol.

The campus was also the focus of a debate on whether to clamp down on its lax open lunch rules after adminstrators discovered that the school wasn’t operating in line with district policy.

A 74-YEAR-OLD man died after he accidentally swallowed his dentures during sex with a 62-year-old prostitute in Taiwan, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.

The man, known as Chen, had been living with a close female friend in New Taipei City after separating from his wife many years ago.

The prostitute said she had sex with Chen for 30 minutes.

She said Chen had got up from the bed, paid her and was about to put on his clothes when he suddenly collapsed.

“He fell back onto the bed. His eyes were open but he was not moving although I shook his body and tried to wake him up,” said the woman, who called the rescue team.

Chen was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Doctors later found his dentures stuck in his throat.

Potenza, 77, was a security guard for the show, and made numerous appearances during his nine years on the program, including in segments called “Guillermo’s Hollywood Round-Up” and “Uncle Frank and Aunt Chippy’s Adventures.” Prior to working on his nephew’s late-night program, Potenza was a New York City police officer, and security guard at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

“He was beloved by his co-workers and considered an uncle to all,” the network said. “His kindness and humor will be missed by everyone he touched.”

Russell will return to the Long Beach area late Wednesday night.
